National Police Week

National Police Week is May 14-May 20. It started in 1962, when President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. National Police Week is a time to honor those who have given their lives in the line of duty, and to show our appreciation and support for the more than 900,00 law enforcement officer still living, continuing to put their lives on the line to serve and protect us every day in America.
